Internet Banking website

You can use Internet Banking from a web browser on a desktop, laptop computer, a mobile phone or tablet. However you log in, the first thing that you’ll see on Internet Banking is the Dashboard or home screen. This gives you a quick overview of your banking without needing to look into specific accounts.

View Balances.

On the home screen you’ll see a box for each account you can access. We call these boxes ‘Account Tiles'. On an account tile you get the actual and available balance on as well as interbank number and any account nickname. Almost all account tiles update balances immediately.

On this screen you might also notice some ‘Quick pay’ buttons to make paying bills easier and notices that require attention. Clicking or tapping an account tile brings up lots more info about the account.

See your balance on an Account view screen

You can see their balance and available balance along with lots of other info once you’ve navigated through to the Account view screen. On larger screens you’ll see this on the top left, and if the screen is smaller or you are visiting from a mobile, this info may float to the top of the screen.

See transactions

On the home screen, scroll down past your account tiles and you’ll see all your upcoming transactions like future Automatic Payments. Immediately below ‘Upcoming Payments’ sits a combined view of transactions across the your accounts, in descending date order. Selecting a transaction expands it to display more info.

Hint: You can get transaction info specific to a single account by tapping an account tile. Clicking Select Accounts lets you choose which accounts you’d like to see on this combined view on the home screen. You must select at least one account.

Keep scrolling down to see more transactions. When you get to the bottom tap ‘Get 12 months’ or ‘Get 24 months’ to see older transactions. But if you can’t find what you are looking for consider Searching for a transaction.

Search among your transactions

Search your incomings and outgoings by tapping or clicking on ‘Search’. This brings up a box that you can type into. Type a word or amount and Internet Banking will start searching recent transactions for you.

Choosing the Money in or Money out buttons will let make your search more specific.

Print or save your transactions

Tapping ‘Print’ immediately below Transactions on the Internet Banking home screen will show you a date range that you can print. You can click the ‘Print’ button right away if you are happy with the From and To dates.

Hint: If you are using a mobile phone to log into Internet Banking, or you are viewing on a small screen size, you may not be able to see a Print option. Try making the screen window larger or log in from another device.

If you’d like to change the dates you want to print just type new dates into the boxes. Alternatively you can tap on the calendar icon and use the arrows at the top of the calendar to help you choose a new date. Once you’re happy just click ‘Print’.

Clicking the ‘Print’ button will bring up a pop up for your printer with something like the below. Click Print as you would normally.

Hint: Pressing CNTRL P any time you are on the home screen will display a printable consolidated list of all transactions across accounts (regardless of what accounts you might have chosen under 'Select Accounts').

Hint: Want to get some info on only one account? From the Home screen in Internet Banking just tap or click on an account tile to bring up info and tasks specific to that account. scroll down past ‘Upcoming Payments’ and you can Print, Search and Download transactions.

What’s the difference between a statement and a transaction list?

A statement stems from a time before online banking when people were notified of transactions through a paper statement in the mail. There are some requirements on banks to maintain creating (and sometimes sending) statements.

Statements are time-bound lists of transactions debited or credited from a specific account. They can’t be edited and so are available as stand-alone PDFs from online banking or individual paper documents posted to customers.

A transaction list is a collection of transactions for a chosen period of time. It can relate to one or more account and can also be filtered by keyword. A transaction list can be printed but it won’t look exactly like a statement

Getting a Statement?

Getting a statement is easy - even if you no longer get them in the mail. You’ll download a PDF statement from Internet Banking (or the App) onto your device, so you’ll need a PDF viewer.

Just head to the account that you are interested in by tapping on the account tile you want on the home screen. Scroll down a little past Upcoming Payments. In Internet Banking, customers select Statements. On the app, tap the PDF icon on the top right of each account screen.

Click Statements and you will see recent statements display below. Change the dates and click on the ‘Search’ button to widen your search.

Trouble shooting TIP – Sometimes customers contact us having difficulty opening statements from Internet Banking or the app. Usually the statement is actually downloaded, but the customer is not able to tell where it has downloaded to. If this happens to you see if you can find a folder or drive called Downloads on your device. If you are using the App, first check to see that you have a modern PDF viewer installed.

Print transactions

Internet Banking - Print transaction lists by selecting Print below Transactions and choosing a date range.

Download Transactions

Internet Banking - Download a transaction list by selecting Download from below Transactions and choosing a date range.

Transactions can be downloaded in .csv which is used for Excel and Quicken interchange format (.qif). QIF is used to transfer transaction info from a bank’s system into a money management program called Quicken, but can also be used on other platforms.
