With these changes, you may need to enter information in a different order than what you are used to. We understand that changes can take some time getting used to.

The new designs have been developed and tested with customers to provide a more user-friendly experience. To help you become familiar with the new screens, we've created a video tutorial that you can watch below.

If you have any feedback or need assistance navigating the new screens, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help.

Some important things to note

These changes will not impact your existing saved payees, automatic payments, direct debits, or any other planned payments and transfers.

There will also be no changes to 2-step verification process. If your payment requires extra authentication, this will continue to happen just as it does today.

The screens with refreshed designs are:

  • Payments
  • Transfers
  • Creating and managing payees

The biggest change is that we have moved Pay (payments to other people or businesses) and Transfer (transferring between your own accounts) to separate screens to make things less complicated, and more consistent with your mobile app experience.

Internet Banking - Setting up a new payment

Check out our step-by-step guide on making payments in our refreshed Internet Banking screens.

Enhancements we have made are:

  • Confirmation of Payee checks on one-off payments and new payees - an anti-scam feature that verifies that the account name and number you enter for payments match bank records. This is being rolled out across most NZ banks & is already available in our mobile app.
  • Downloadable, printable, shareable payment receipts - will be available when you make or set up a payment. This will replace the previous ‘Print confirmation'.
  • Better accessibility - the new screens are navigable by keyboard, have better colour contrast, are screen-reader compatible and are built to higher accessibility standards overall.
  • The ability to mark payees as favourites and add nicknames to them - a way to make them easier to identify and more accessible, if you have a long list of payees.

Why we have refreshed the screen designs and made enhancements

There are two main reasons.

The industry-wide introduction of Confirmation of Payee – aiming to help you avoid scams and errors when making digital payments.

To enable us to continue to offer a safe and secure modern online banking platform.

A couple of things that will be different

We have done our best to keep all the features and functions that you know and use, but you may notice a couple of differences.

  • Payment type change - ‘One-off payment’ and ‘Pay someone new' have been consolidated. You still have the option to save a new payee during the payment process.
  • You'll no longer be able to upload photos to your payees - for now, default icons will be used. We will look to introduce customisable options in future enhancements.

When you can expect to see the refreshed pages

We will be gradually rolling out these refreshed screens from the beginning of April. but you may not see the new screens until later in the month.

We will be working to refresh other parts of Internet Banking with the new look screen design in the future and will continue to keep you informed of any big changes as we do.
