For customers who may require emergency financial assistance, we are available on 0800 554 554 between 8am – 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 4pm over the weekend.
You can change your account type anytime through our mobile app.
Mobile app
To change your account type:
- Log in to the mobile app and tap on the account you want to update.
- Tap on the settings icon (cog wheel) in the top right corner.
- In the Account Details section, tap on the Account type to view your existing details.
- On the next screen, tap on Change account type.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select and confirm your new account type.
All direct debits, automatic payments and transfers will remain in place. Any cards can continue to be used on the account and any overdraft will not be affected and will be linked to the new account. Your account number will also stay the same.
When changing an everyday account, you can only select an Electronic account. Smile on Call and Current accounts will not be available and cannot be switched back to.
